Seoul Hot !

Summer in Seoul

Spent 3 days in Seoul on transit to Hokkaido in early August. It was hot, hot, hot. In Singapore, when it gets very hot, we can always go to the mall or some air-con place. Not in Seoul. They have some energy conservation programme that require businesses to set the temperature no lower than 26 degree Celsius. So it affected my mood a little as I hate the heat.

Grand Myeong-dong Hotel : Value-for-money accommodation in perfect location

We got a very good deal from Booking.com for the Grand Myeong-dong Hotel. S$450 for 3 nights. I was told price has tripled since ! And when I booked the hotel in June, it was ranked 100+ in tripadvisor and I have just checked that it has moved to the 2nd spot.

Easy access to all the shopping and restaurants in Myeongdong, 100 metres to the  Myeongdong Subway Station (Line 4, Exit 10). The stop for the airport shuttle is near the subway station, at Sejong Hotel where you can take service 6015 to the airport.

Spacious lobby where you can also make your own complimentary cup of coffee all day

Toilet with Bidet

View from hotel. We visited the spa opposite for Korean massage.

The hotel is very new and very clean. They gave Innisfree Green Tea toiletries which smelt heavenly! There is free serving of coffee at the spacious lobby and also a washing machine and dryer that you can use freely at the basement. You need only pay a token for the washing powder. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful stay !
